We are a Christ-Centered Independent Micro School based in Eatonville. We care for children from the age of 3 to 14 years, providing a range of age-appropriate educational resources to promote holistic leadership growth and encourage development.

Who We Are

Thomas Leadership Academy got its start in Eatonville in 2020 by Husband and Wife Danton Thomas and Dr. Cheryl Thomas. We decided to do things a bit differently at Thomas Leadership Academy by creating a space that fosters all models of learning, through a holistic approach with a Biblical worldview. Scholars from 3 to 14 years of age are empowered to develop their morals, self-accountability and academic excellence, along with a strong work ethic.

We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on intrinsic motivation. Our personalized scholar program ensures students develop the necessary personal and academic skills to serve with pride, lead with confidence and inspire to impact others. At Thomas Leadership Academy, our primary focus is to impact students and inspire them to make a difference for themselves and those around them.

About Our Eatonville Location

Here at Thomas Leadership Academy, we are able to offer a wide variety of activities, including STEM Projects, Fine Arts projects, and electives such as music, public speaking and foreign languages.

Our state-of-the-art STEM Lab contains cutting-edge 3D printers, allowing our scholars to apply their knowledge, use their leadership skills and think critically.

At Thomas Leadership Academy, we recognize the value and importance of artistic expression. Our scholars take weekly music classes, where they are provided with the opportunity to learn to play a variety of instruments, such as the violin.

Our Setting Includes:

A full-service kitchen where students can choose between purchasing lunch at school or bringing their own food. Everyone has access to a microwave and an oven, allowing them to gain independence

Large, spacious classrooms, with desks that can be adjusted to suit both independent and group work. Wi-Fi is available throughout our building and each classroom contains state-of-the-art facilities, such as smart boards and monitors, to promote interactive learning.

Highly-secure playgrounds that are designed to ensure safety and fun for children of all age groups. We have taken measures to separate the playgrounds based on age and provide age-appropriate play equipment. This way, children can enjoy outdoor play and recreation without any worries. Our playground for younger scholars is even covered and protected from the elements, making it an ideal outdoor space for learning and play, regardless of the weather conditions.

Partnerships with the local community, which gives scholars the opportunity to volunteer, gain experience and provide assistance to local businesses. We are a member of the local Eatonville Chamber of Commerce and work with churches in our community to provide volunteer opportunities for our scholars, as well as providing workshops for community members.

Merging Teaching and Childcare

We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to develop and grow as soon as they start at our center.

At Thomas Leadership Academy, we value the importance of reading and how it equates to knowledge. All of our children are taught to read from a very young age, and we continue to emphasize the value this skill has throughout their education. We believe that if you can read, you can achieve anything!

By developing our programs with curriculum experts and child care specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what results in successful education; we have created a learning program that allows our children to be provided with the tools to lead and to excel, in both their educational journey and personal lives.

About Our Team

With over 25 years of experience, Husband and Wife Danton Thomas and Dr. Cheryl Thomas have dedicated their lives to making a positive impact on children's education. Working in various roles of leadership between them, including teacher, counselor, and correctional officer, their joint driving force is to impact children's lives. As committed educators and community volunteers, they firmly believe in the power of building relationships to help children succeed.

Recognizing the significance of support in education, Dr. Cheryl Thomas and Danton Thomas want to ensure that every child receives a high-quality education. Danton, a gifted child who started reading at the age of two, struggled to find the necessary support to maximize his talents during his college years. Therefore, they place a great emphasis on reading as a critical life skill and strive to provide support to every child, regardless of their circumstances, to excel in this area.

Dr. Cheryl Thomas and Danton Thomas believe that there are no limits or bounds to a child’s potential. Through their tireless efforts, they instill in all the children under their care the belief that they have the potential to achieve greatness.

Janay White - School Administrator

Mrs. White is a dedicated parent and employee. She has been a valuable member of our staff since 2020.

Samantha Shade - Elementary Teacher

Ms. Shade is a graduate of and enjoys teaching Math. She is known to take a challenging concept and make it easy to understand.

Lauren Thomas - Academic Instructor

Ms. Lauren is a graduate of University of Central Florida. A second year teacher who has a passion for History, she is known to bring all her lessons to life and students never want to go home. Ms. Lauren creates a love for learning in her classroom.

The option for healthy chef-prepared lunches each day that meet dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, vegan, etc.

Events that allow kids to learn more about the world around them like career day, guest speakers, etc.

Long opening hours to accommodate parents with busy schedules.

A diverse environment where all cultures and traditions are honored and respected.

Electives such as public speaking and music, which inspire children to take learning into their own hands.

Personalized support for all students to receive the opportunity for credit/grade recovery, and advanced classes.

The opportunity to attend a variety of educational field trips. Past examples include trips to Orlando Science Center, Gatorland, Legoland, Caryola Experience, City Hall, and Local political meetings, as well as a visit to Washington DC US Capitol.
